RECAP
The St. Louis Dream Keepers' Fair was a tremendious success, with over 300 people in attendance for the moment of silence. Conducting the moment of silence on stage was an eclectic group of college and university students, local and state wide politicians, representatives from community organizations, companies, and our gracious sponsors. Many of the local media outlets covered the fair. On the right hand side you can find links to their coverage of this historic St. Louis event.
Special thanks to the St. Louis Cardinals who held a simultaneous moment of silence, uniting an additional 40,000 people for the April 19th fair that called for racial harmony and economic justice in our community.

Info on the fair itself
The Fair: On April 19, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the St. Louis Dream Keepers, will host an all-day, city wide event called the Dream Keepers' Fair. Centered around the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the event will begin with a two-minute moment of silence on the street symbolic of division - Compton Avenue (between Olive and Laclede). Following the tribute, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of festivities.
The Message: Race has been a divisive element within the City of St. Louis. There have been a number of events recently that threaten to keep the City from achieving racial harmony and equality. The Dream Keepers’ Fair aims to encourage people to begin crossing the street -- to become more aware of the issues and the intolerance that are present in our communities; to become more willing to listen, learn, and experience; to realize that:
“We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality;
tied in a single garment of destiny. What ever affects
one directly, affects all indirectly.”
- Dr. King
